Led by their financial expert friend Joe Hunt, a group of young men in 1980s Los Angeles hatch a plan to get-rich-quick with a Ponzi scheme. However, the plan ends badly when Hunt and friend Jim Pittman decide to murder investor and con man Ron Levin.
