Oscar winner Allison Janney and Andrew Rannells headline a bittersweet drama comedy about familial regrets from writer-director Jim Rash, who co-wrote The Descendants with Alexander Payne and Nat Faxon. Diane Patterson (Allison Janney) is estranged from her son Tyler and poised to plan her husband's funeral alone. Unexpectedly, Tyler dispatches his personal assistant, Jamie Simms (Andrew Rannells), to help with the preparations. The two strangers navigate 'an unusual situation' and fumble through grief and anguish together, creating a tender bond between a mother and surrogate son. Through their fragile connection, Diane and Jamie find laughter and healing that could provide the widow with the courage to rebuild bridges to Tyler.
